This year has been phenomenal for Bringing Hope to the Family USA, marked by substantial growth in awareness and a renewed commitment to our mission. Our impact in Uganda is tangible due to the tireless dedication of our amazing BHTFUSA volunteers, board members, and supporters. In this issue of Pearls of Hope, we have a couple of stories to share that demonstrate what Bringing Hope to the Family is all about.

RESCUED BY HOPE: A NEW BEGINNING
|
|
A few weeks ago, authorities brought an obviously neglected two-year-old child named Mary to Bringing Hope to the Family (BHTF) in the village of Kaihura, Uganda. Mary had suffered severe abuse and neglect at the hands of her stepmother and was experiencing devastating malnutrition and physical signs of torture and torment. As the first to recognize Mary’s dire circumstances, BHTFUSA took immediate action, and our quick response has been pivotal in supporting her medical care and overall recovery. Mary has now found refuge and care in the Alpha Baby House at Home Again Children’s Home, a vital program operated by BHTF. With the aid of compassionate individuals within this organization, Mary has embarked on a journey of physical and emotional healing, and we are happy to report that she is stable and adjusting well. Your ongoing support for BHTFUSA is crucial, providing a sanctuary for children like Mary to find safety, care, and the opportunity to reclaim their stolen childhoods. Compassion for the most vulnerable is the key to the mission of BHTF.

Innocent Tugume’s remarkable journey stands as a testament to the transformative impact of Bringing Hope to the Family (BHTF). Having received support from BHTF for the majority of his life, Innocent recently accomplished a significant milestone by graduating from University with a medical degree and is now a doctor. With extra financial support and ongoing encouragement from our longtime friend and partner, Laine Wagenseller, Innocent’s inspiring achievement underscores the success stories that stem from the educational support provided by BHTF and BHTFUSA. “I am so proud of him,” Wagenseller says. “He had nothing. But he has made much of it. His life has not been easy. But he keeps climbing over the boulders and passing the obstacles.”
Through their unwavering assistance for university and higher education, individuals like Innocent have been empowered to realize their dreams.
