Safely Transporting Patients
Kaihura village is 25 miles, which is about a 45 minute drive, from the nearest hospital in Fort Portal and the journey is mostly on unpredictable roads. For the past several years, BHTF Uganda’s staff have been making ends meet by using personal vehicles to transport patients to Fort Portal, but it’s an uncomfortable, bumpy journey and there is limited accessibility to a vehicle when needed.
We believe it’s a basic right for the sick to have access to a safe, professional transportation vehicle.
The need is critical: We are urgently fundraising $50,000 to purchase an ambulance and pay for gas/driver to safely transport patients who cannot be treated at Hope Again Medical Center to Fort Portal.
If you would like to contribute towards our Emergency Relief Fund currently dedicated to purchasing an ambulance, please consider donating here.
