From Recognition to Action: Christine Deschaine’s Lifelong Mission of Bringing Hope to Uganda

Yesterday, GlobeSt.com recognized women from across the country for their contributions to the CRE industry and their communities at its annual Women of Influence conference. KWP’s Christine Deschaine was a winner in the Humanitarian category but unable to attend because she is abroad in Uganda doing the work she was recognized for.

Each year, Christine travels to Kaihura, Uganda, to work with Bringing Hope to The Family in support of its mission to improve the quality of life for families and communities affected by HIV/AIDS, poverty and disaster in the region through medical care, education, and community development projects. Several years ago, Christine established Bringing Hope To The Family USA as a US-based 501(c)(3) partner organization to ensure ongoing financial support and sustainability for BHTF’s core work. For 25 years, this grassroots organization has helped over 25,000 orphans, and over 500 households in Kaihura village and the neighboring communities of southwestern Uganda.
